Sunday book club : The escape room megan golding

Hello so I am back with another book review I actually picked this up from the library thinking it was from author I had already but it wasn't not and thing so let's crack on !

So If you have read one these before you know it we start with the blurb then I get in my options I try not put spoilers in incase people reading haven't read the book and are looking at reviews to make there choice .

"'Welcome to the escape room. Your goal is simple. Get out alive.' In the lucrative, high-pressure world of Wall Street finance, Vincent, Jules, Sylvie and Sam are the best of the best. Their team makes billion-dollar deals. They live lives of vanity and luxury. Making money is the only thing that matters and they'll do whatever it takes to get ahead - and to get what they're owed. But when the four of them become trapped in an elevator escape room, things start to go terrifyingly wrong. In the pursuit of wealth they've learned to live with each other's secrets and flaws, but in the confines of the elevator their rivalries and jealousies are laid bare, leaving them dangling on the precipice of disaster. They'll have to work together to solve the puzzles that will release them from the elevator, but the clues they're given force them to reckon with their past - and long-departed colleagues. And as their escape grows more and more improbable, one secret is revealed that they can't ignore: one of them is a killer."

So from the blurb is actually doesn't tell you a lot  so will tell you bit more .So basically the main character sarah hall goes to work for high pressure corporate firm where it basically keep up or get out . Sarah works for the company for number years then someone in the office commutes suicide when Sarah suggests this may not be the case she is pushed out the company.  After this there are all sorts of twists and turns which eventually end up with escape room.

I loved this book it kept me gripped I never knew what was going on and it was only towards the end I figured what was going on. It was very fast paced book i read it in days very much  my sort of thing.  I f you like a good suspense thriller I would highly recommend you read this.  I gave this boom 5 stars I plan on reading other books by this author.

Sunday Book Club: The one by john marrs

I am back to day for another book club Sunday . This I about the the one by John Marrs if you looking for the review of the flat share which I said I was reading in my last review you can find that on my Instagram I will link it here  . Now back to the book in question  I read this via audio book if anyone is interested I borrowed online through my local library I am telling this because a lot people don't realise that there library's online I certainly didn't until lockdown.. So let crack on

this what the blurb tell us

How far would you go to find the one ?

one simple mouth swab is all it takes . a quick DNA test to find your prefect partner - the you're genetically made for .

a decade after scientists discover everyone has a gene they share with just one person, millions have taken the test, desperate to find true love. now five more people meet there match . but even soul mates have secrets. and some are more shocking -and deadlier-than others ...

I am going to start by saying when I first started listen to this I thought I had clicked on the wrong thing ad I was listening to some advert that sounded very suspicious. My mum was in the car with me at the time and even she was confused . But to bare with it its actually a really good read so we have 5 people who have all taken the test to find there match we have a serial killer ,the CEO of match.com , then we have Jade ,Mandy, and  Nick . Now at first I was like how the heck does it all link why are there so many characters my brain was very confused and I thought this a very weird book I am listening to but as it when on it all started to be come clear. They  had all taken this match my DNA swab and where on there way to find there partners I wont spoil it but its not an easy journey and there are definitely are some twists . I am normal and able to figure these things out but even I was baffled I would definitely  recommend you read this if you like a good psychological thriller it will challenge your brain  . I rated this 4*s on good reads I will link for good reads here  .

Book club Sunday : Bridgerton The Duke And I

I am going to try and start of bit of series here .I love to read and I have read a lot during this pandemic. So every Sunday will be a book review and at the end I will tell you what I am currently reading so you can read along I you want to and comment when the review is posted your thoughts this might not work so bare with me .

So I am going to be starting with this the first book of the bridgerton series.  I will give you what is said in the blurb then will give you my opinions.

"Can there be any greater challenge to London's Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke? Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1813

By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister, the lovely - and almost-on-the-shelf - Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth - it's all an elaborate plan to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable . . .

Their ruse works like a charm - at first. But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a complete sham. Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her. It wasn't the plan, but it seems she's falling for the duke, for real. And amidst the glittering, gossipy, cut-throat world of London's elite, there is only one certainty: love ignores every rule . . . "

Now I will start by saying I read this two days I was Hooked I just couldn't put it down . I had watched the series on Netflix before reading the book but I have to say I think  the book outshines it . I struggled to get in to the series .I have to say I don't think the series really captures the romance and the true connection between Daphne and Simon. I also find the series miss out big chunks of the book . How Simon and Daphne meet is also different in the book. We learn a lot more about there  marriage in the book how Daphne convinces Simon to have children in the end.  Spoiler in the book we learn that they go on to have 4 children were in the series this is not shown. Also we don't get to see the second epilogue in the series now weather they will be made in to a separate series I guess we will see. However I noticed in the actual book you don't get the second epilogue where a the kindle version you do . I Will definitely be reading the rest .

I am currently reading the flat share by Beth O'leary  if you like to read this and share your thoughts when I post the review . For real time reviews follow me on Instagram link in the side bar
